Sony ACE-2100 1/2" B&W VTR
This was the starting point for NEXUS amd was the workhorse for a decade or more. Expensive, heavy and very 'industrial', the 2100 used reel to reel 1/2" tape and gave a very crude 'crash edit' facility, which took no regard for inter frame cutting, so every edit resulted in a severe picture roll. Add to this analogue nature of the system, and it is clear why editing was kept to an absolute minimum.
